Laura and the Killed Men - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
Laura and the Killed Men
"A sound reminiscent of S.F.'s
creative, experimental heyday where folk, rock, country and blues were melded into a LSD-inspired cauldron.... [Laura's voice has] the power and melodic range to make fire." --Dave Monterey (Song Dog Music Blog)

"The 6-track EP, One Bell, offers a timeless Americana certain to enchant listeners of every age. On One Bell, an earthen musicality meets the golden-hued voice of Laura Kepner-Adney for a collection that is elegant rather than quaint, something the genre could use a little bit more of these days." (Yab Yum Music and Arts)

Classical singer-turned-folk-artist Laura Kepner-Adney shades her Americana with country and echoes of Appalachia. Frequently compared to Iris Dement, Chrissie Hynde and Gillian Welch, she has developed an expansive songwriting style that highlights her connection to Arizona's unforgiving environment. Rooted in traditional folk technique, Laura's guitar playing exposes her rock and blues influences and showcases her unconventional, rich vocals. She spent seven years performing with Silver Thread Trio, Tucson's critically acclaimed Americana ensemble; currently fronts southern Arizona's power pop quartet The Cordials; and has performed and recorded with national acts including Amos Lee, Calexico, Howe Gelb, Jello Biafra, and Robin Hitchcock.
Laura's partnership with the Killed Men began in August of 2014 after a joint tour with Laura's solo act and Tucson's chamber indie rock sweethearts, Sun Bones. The two acts combined forces (Laura is now a member of Sun Bones as well) and have just completed a nine-week tour.
